21 July 2026 “Not just promises, but action!” — Albert Roelofs (MTEC) on milking with both sense and sensitivity

With over 25 years of experience as a dairy farmer, Albert Roelofs has in depth knowledge of the modern dairy industry. It is the foundation of his current role at MTEC, where he uses his expertise to introduce farmers to Fullwood’s high quality products — including the innovative M2erlin milking robot. Roelofs not only speaks the language of the farmer, but also understands – better than most people – what cows need to really thrive. To him, that’s the essence of successful milking: a happy cow.

Fullwood Family

“Fullwood may not be the biggest, but it is the oldest dairy company in the world — and that’s where its strength lies,” Albert says. “Milking is in the organization’s DNA.” At MTEC, he sells Fullwood products such as the Merlin milking robot. “I feel part of the Fullwood Family. In nine out of ten cases, I’m the first person to sit down with a customer, whether it’s about a milk tank or a robot. We keep communication deliberately short — between MTEC, Fullwood, and the farmer — so we can respond quickly. And let’s be clear: customers are incredibly important to me, but there’s one that matters even more — the cow. When the cow is happy, everything simply runs better: the farmer is pleased, we’re satisfied and the whole system works more smoothly. It always starts and ends with the cow.”

Simple and solid

Albert: “When I’m on the road visiting customers – both existing ones and prospects – I like to literally show what our true strength is. Many people have never seen the M2erlin up close, and it’s great to demonstrate how robustly it’s built. I literally take the machine apart right in front of them. The robot is made entirely of stainless steel and simply cannot rust — even the bolts in the concrete are stainless steel. You won’t find that anywhere else. The M2erlin stands out in three key areas: quality, quiet operation and energy efficiency. It delivers reliable performance for many years, operates whisper‑quiet — because calmness in the barn is essential — and uses remarkably little power, which matters more than ever today. On top of that, the unique K‑flow system ensures a natural cow traffic pattern. The animals can enter and leave the box from multiple sides, without expensive sorting gates or complicated extras. That’s typical Fullwood: simple, strong and always reliable.”

Freedom

Albert: “Good milking — that’s Fullwood’s mission. And with our perfect milking technology, STREAMPULSE, we prove it every day. The philosophy behind Fullwood is all about freedom for the cow. In the past, the calf would come to the cow several times a day to drink; now it’s the other way around. The cow chooses her own moment and walks to the milking robot voluntarily. The robot takes over the calf’s role, but in a way that fully fits her natural rhythm. Because she feels free and stays in contact with the herd, she enjoys coming to the robot. There, she experiences calm and space, while the robotic arm closely follows her movements — exactly what freedom is meant to feel like.” Albert knows how important freedom is for cows. “I’ve milked and bred cows for over 25 years myself. Now I help my customers see the world through their eyes. The typical M2erlin user is down to earth, practical, and focused on quality, reliability, and service. And that’s exactly what Fullwood delivers: not just promises, but result.”
